Constitutional medicine for weakly anaemic animals with pale translucent skin

Ferrum metallicum: Metallic iron, organ specificity oriented toward the blood (haemoglobin), but also toward the blood vessels, the fibrous tissue of the muscles and joints and the gastrointestinal tract. The main field of application is anaemia
Ferrum phosphoricum: iron phosphate, similar to Ferrum metallicum, but particularly for initial fever and inflammatory conditions.

Ferrosal is a constitutional medicine for weak, anaemic animals with pale translucent skin. It is used primarily in young stock, in particular for febrile initial states and cases of gastro-enteritis.

The treatment with Ferrosal is not an iron substitution therapy, instead it acts as a catalyst of the iron metabolism. It is thus appropriate for considerably increasing the efficacy of parenteral iron substitution in piglets. In addition, Ferrosal is used in the treatment of "swine enzootic pneumonia". For all other animal species, as well, the growth of susceptible and weak young stock is favourably influenced.
All types of anaemias are favourably influenced. Ferrosal can be used in the aftertreatment of a suppression therapy with Sangostyptal.

Initial fever and inflammatory processes are also positively influences, particularly in young stock, e.g. for rhinitis. In the cat Ferrosal in combination with Febrisal is the drug of choice for shinotracheitis.

For gastro-enteritis, Ferrum exhibits the best action in all cases of watery diarrhea with undigested food as well as emesis alternating with ravenous hunger.

WERAVET 17 Ferrosal can be combined with other Biokanol preparations as:
WERAVET 4     Febrisal:     Febrile illnesses in young stock
WERAVET 8     Dysenteral:     Diarrheas in young stock
